Seriously Funny Entertainment…Funny You Can Feel Good About

Seriously Funny Entertainment is a virtual factory of creativity, ideas and insights into the revolutionary world of convergent media. Specializing in the development and production of uplifting comedy and inspiring reality content for the digital age, Seriously Funny is committed to exploring life through humor. We are your CREATIVE COLLABORATORS!

What makes up Seriously Funny Entertainment’s DNA?
CREATIVITY – We delight in creatively expressing eternal truths and life-enriching stories.
CHAMPION – The greatest joy comes from encouraging, advising, modeling, assisting and provoking others to succeed in whatever creative endeavor they are called.
COLLABORATORS – The fun is in working with passionate, creative friends who are like-minded but possess complimentary talents.

Seriously Funny began creating content for the Internet in 2002, 3 years prior to the digital explosion of 2005. In a multi-screen universe, Seriously Funny Digital excels at convergent strategies and programming. We utilize our vast experience in network television and cutting edge involvement in digital media to produce compelling content that can stand alone or serve as an interactive companion to broadcast programming.

Contrary to what you might hear, the advent of digital content, rather than signaling TV’s death has triggered an exciting era in the evolution of television. TV content for today’s Internet generation must be compelling, communal “must see TV.” It also must lend itself to interactivity, prompt further exploration and spark community amongst its audience. With a constant eye on convergent strategies, Seriously Funny Entertainment remains creative, innovative and passionate about creating and producing up-lifting content for all platforms.

DAN RUPPLE

Producer / Writer / Media Strategist
Founder Seriously Funny Entertainment

Dan Rupple is a 38-year veteran of the entertainment industry, with vast experience in diverse arenas of the entertainment industry, including creative development, production and executive management. Dan has worked within the highest ranks of network television and on the forefront of digital media. With his creative and innovative background, he is a much sought after consultant on emerging media trends, keeping producers and clients ahead of the curve. As a producer, Dan has developed numerous highly successful digital advertising strategies, demonstrating his ability to produce quality content with multi-million dollar or modest budgets.

Dan began his career in entertainment at the age of 15, with an improvisation team in the comedy clubs of Hollywood. After college, Dan co-founded the pioneering sketch comedy group, Isaac Air Freight. Over the next fifteen years, the team successfully produced eight top-selling albums, numerous radio and television programs, and over 1200 live concert appearances throughout the United States and Canada. Their popularity spread worldwide, marked by a tremendous demand for Isaac Air Freight’s recordings in England, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and South Africa. Today, Dan is often referred to as the “Father of Christian Comedy”…although he demands a DNA test.

In 1990, after producing and co-hosting a morning comedy radio program, Dan went to work for CBS Television as a Supervising Producer. For the next decade, he supervised numerous CBS productions, such as:

  • The Price is Right (over 1,000 episodes)
  • The Late Show with David Letterman (All activity outside of NY)
  • The Primetime Emmy Awards
  • The 1996 Republican National Convention
  • Family Feud
  • The AT&T Pebble Beach Golf Tournament

Upon leaving CBS, in 2002 Dan founded Seriously Funny Entertainment, a highly creative digital content producer, specializing in comedy and reality programming for convergent media. Well ahead of the pack and the 2005 advent of YouTube, Dan is already a successful veteran of an industry still in its infancy – Digital Media. In early 2006, Television Week Magazine chose Dan to write a commentary on the shape of comedy in this new media world. In 2008 TV Week again asked him write an article on the future of television comedy.

Seriously Funny Entertainment has also produced over 100 branded entertainment and product videos for corporate clients including Gloria Jean’s Coffees, Toyota, SafeWorlds IPTV, Meguiar’s Car Crazy, General Motor’s Cadillac Division, ToDo Cast and Spirit West Coast Festivals. SF Branding was awarded the 2006 Gold Aurora Award for Creative Achievement in the Use of Humor in a Corporate Video.

Dan serves as a consultant with numerous ministries and organizations on emerging media strategies. He is the Honorary Chairman of the Christian Comedy Association and serves as an adjunct instructor in the Cinema and Media Arts Department at Biola University, where he serves on the Biola Media Conference Executive Advisory Board, the largest and most influential gathering of Christians working in mainstream media. With a passion to encourage a new generation of filmmakers, Dan is part of the Windrider Forum, an annual Conversation of Film and Culture at the Sundance Film Festival.

Dan resides in Southern California and has been happily married to the love of his life, Peggy, for over thirty-four years. Together, they have raised three wonderful children and gained two daughter-in-laws, a son-in-law and four grandchildren.
